I love photographing families! My session with the Gastelum family was no exception, I couldn’t wait to see them again! The last time I had seen Priscilla and Carlos was during their maternity session on Mount Lemmon. I hit it off right away with Priscilla. She was finishing up nursing school at the time, and we both bonded over that connection. When Priscilla reached out to me to set up a family session, I was ecstatic! I couldn’t wait to meet their sweet baby girl! We had a great time together during their family session. Baby Natalia was all smiles, looking adorable in her pink tutu! She couldn’t get enough of her Mama’s pink earrings and her Daddy’s snuggles. A favorite moment during our session was when Priscilla was tickling and kissing Natalia’s cute toes. At the end of the session we were able to get Natalia into her beautiful christening gown. It was special to be able to capture those memories for her parents. It is such an honor to capture families at different stages and to be able to watch them grow! Thank you Gastelum family!!
I was able to photograph one of my favorite families earlier this week! David and Michelle are good family friends, and I have been privileged to watch this cute couple’s love story unfold. It seems like just last month I was taking maternity photos with these two in Catalina State Park. I was so excited when Michelle asked me to take their family photos this year! I was SO excited to see baby Logan! Guys, this little boy has got to be the most smiley baby I have ever met. From the moment I saw him he was full of sweet smiles! I loved watching this darling family of three interacting and playing with each other. We started our session out in the desert and ended in the cotton fields. It was a blast and I just love how their session turned out! David and Michelle, you two are the best parents and Logan, you are just a doll! Thank you Garwacki Family!!
I had another wonderful family session this past weekend with the Steck family. I have known this family for many years, and was so excited when they asked me to take their family photos this fall. My younger sister even babysat these teens back in the day (okay, now I’m feeling old) Even though the temperatures are still hot here in Tucson, this family was happy to follow me around the park and brave the heat. I will say, things were a little more exciting than most sessions though, since I ran into my first rattlesnake while out taking photos. However, once we got past that heart-stopping moment, we got back to capturing this beautiful crew! I love it when a family is able to feel so comfortable at our sessions and is able to let their personalities shine through. These siblings had me laughing and smiling the whole time. With the funny faces they would pull and their playful banter the session was light and fun! Thank you Steck family!
When Priscilla contacted me to set up her maternity session I was thrilled! She was so sweet and I couldn't wait to meet her and her husband Carlos in person. What was even more fun, was finding out that she just graduated from the nursing program at the University of Arizona! I love when I am able to share a nursing connection with someone :) I apologize in advance for the length of this blog post, I really tried to narrow down my favorites, but it was so hard. This maternity session on Mount Lemmon was so dreamy! The light, the views, and this gorgeous couple made this session one of my favorite maternity sessions! Priscilla and Carlos are expecting their first child, a girl, and their joy and excitement is so beautiful to witness! I am so excited for this soon to be family of three! Thank you Priscilla and Carlos for inviting me to capture this special time in your lives! Congratulations to you both, I know you will make the most wonderful parents!!!
The warm Arizona sun was beginning to set as I pulled into Christopher Columbus Park. This little oasis in the desert was bustling with activity as families were clustered around the lake fishing and enjoying the weekend. As I walked toward the Bostwick family, I jumped for joy when I saw how absolutely darling they all were! Not only were they the cutest family, but they were all in perfectly coordinated blue outfits!
We began our session away from the crowds, in a small (this is the desert afterall) patch of green trees and tall grasses which perfectly framed the lake glistening behind us. The sun was golden and the light was gorgeous! We did a few posed frames and then allowed the kids to play for a bit as we made our way to the lake. During family sessions, I love to incorporate time for families, especially for the littles, to just play, interact, and connect. I feel like this is when I am best able to capture those candid moments, the sweet snuggles, tickle fights, and precious moments that really tell a family's story. One of my favorite moments from this session was when we helped put sister on her older brother's shoulders. He had requested we do this shot and was so eager to carry her on his own. I thought to myself, what a sweet boy! You could tell how much he cared for his little sister, and my heart melted!
Bostwick family, I loved meeting you all! I had so much fun on our little adventure and sharing all the tic- tacs. :) Thank you for braving the heat with me. I look forward to documenting more memories for you all!
